I don’t know why the owner didn’t just let him take it.

After all the whippings and beatings this ex-slave endured, he’s entitled to some hard-earned reparations.

NBC:

Police Sunday announced the arrest of a man suspected of stabbing to death a New Jersey deli owner who was trying to retrieve his stolen tip jar.

Dyheam Williams, 18, of Lindenwold, is charged with murder and weapons crimes for the stabbing of Jerome Pastore, the Camden County prosecutor’s office announced in a press release.

Williams was arrested at his home and will be jailed in the Camden County Jail, pending a pretrial hearing, prosecutors said.

Sources told NBC10 that Pastore, 52, had run after Williams after he stole a jar of money from his business, Shamrock Deli in Haddon Township.

Pastore was found stabbed and on the ground outside his business around 4:45 p.m. Friday. The father of five died about half an hour later at a nearby hospital.

Pastore, of West Berlin, was well-known in the neighborhood around the deli, which served as a popular spot for residents.
