Western Media Continues with Vague Language About Ukrainian Attacks on Nuclear Plant

The Western media’s coverage of Ukrainian missile strikes on a nuclear power plant in territory that Russia has occupied since March is one of the weirder examples of media weirdness I’ve run across.

Whereas they could say that some of the various other Ukrainian atrocities were done by Russia, and then just drop it before people noted it made no sense, it is apparently too stupid even for them to say that Russia is operating the power plant and firing missiles at it at the same time. It just doesn’t even make any sense to try to picture it. Where are the Russians firing the missiles from? The parking lot? Why would they be doing that?

The Guardian had a completely astonishing report where they claimed Russia was attacking the plant because they were trying to shut off power to the Ukrainian side and the only way they knew how to do that was to shoot missiles at the reactor.

Zelensky then said – according to The Guardian – that he was firing missiles at the power plant because there were Russian solders there who were trying to blow up the plant.

The Ukraine is releasing totally nonsensical statements constantly, and The Guardian seems to just print them. Today, LBC radio – also in the UK – had some fat woman claiming again – nearly a week later – that the Russians are firing missiles at the plant.

It appears that the people putting out these British media reports actually believe in this false reality created by the American media. They are just locked into it like a religion as far as I can tell, so if the US media says that the Ukraine government is run by hook-nosed angels and Russia is pure evil, they just accept that since March, the Russians have been sending workers into the plant and keeping the electricity on and then sending soldiers into the parking lot to shell the reactors.

The UK has many, many fewer Jews in their media, and it sometimes looks like no one is monitoring it.

The US media is being much more tactful in their coverage of the Ukrainian attacks on the nuclear plant.

CNBC:

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Wednesday night that Ukrainian diplomats and nuclear scientists are in “constant touch” with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and working to get a team of inspectors into the Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.

The plant has been occupied by Russian troops since the start of the war in Ukraine but there have been increasing fears that a nuclear catastrophe could take place as shelling has intensified around the plant, which Ukraine says has been used by Russia to store ammunition and military equipment. Russia has accused Ukraine of shelling the plant.

See:

  • Shelling is happening
  • Russia says Ukraine people are doing the shelling
  • ?????

They do not draw any conclusions. Unlike the moronic UK media, they do not say that Russia is shelling their own power plant.

I did not understand this part:

There are heightened fears that a catastrophe could occur at the plant, which is Europe’s largest of its kind. Yesterday, Ukraine’s Emergency Ministry conducted a nuclear catastrophe exercise in Zaporizhzhia in case of an accident.

This is an image from the exercise:

How are they conducting an exercise in territory occupied by Russia? Of course they are not doing that, and this misprint (it’s been up since early morning on Thursday, more than six hours from my time of writing) shows that the people writing about this don’t really know any of the details.

But according to a Forbes article, CNBC is wrong, and the Ukraine “Emergency Ministry” was actually conducting an exercise on the other side of the river. Forbes gives better details than CNBC, but still dances around the obvious and won’t outright say that the Ukraine is firing on a nuclear reactor while claiming Russia is going to cause a nuclear crisis.

Forbes:

Moscow denied claims its troops—who have occupied the plant for months—have deployed heavy weapons in or around the station and said Kyiv was plotting an attack that would see Russia accused of “creating a man-made disaster at the plant.”

The plant is now on the frontline between Russian and Ukrainian forces and both nations trade blame for strikes on the site and accuse the other of stoking nuclear disaster and endangering the world.

Nearby, Ukrainian emergency forces are rehearsing nuclear disaster drills clad in gas masks and hazmat suits in case of an incident at the plant.

The drills are on the other side of the river. I don’t know how CNBC staff writers wouldn’t know that, but okay.

Here is the current map:

Here’s where the power plant is:

Again: Russia has held it since March.

Goof Troopers

Goofy Ned Price, also known as “Ned the Goofball,” released the following readout on the State Department website:

Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken spoke today with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba on continued U.S. support for Ukraine’s defense needs, as well as Ukraine’s plans for the second Crimea Platform summit on August 23 and its Independence Day on August 24. The Secretary updated Foreign Minister Kuleba on U.S. deliveries of security assistance and condemned recent Russian actions in and around Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant. The Secretary applauded Ukrainian authorities and operators for their commitment to nuclear safety and security under these circumstances. Additionally, the Secretary reaffirmed the United States will continue to call for an end to all military operations at or near Ukraine’s nuclear facilities, the return of full control of these facilities to Ukraine, and Moscow to end its war of choice against its sovereign neighbor.

So, again, just like with the US media: there is no blame on the Ukraine, but also no direct blame on Russia. It’s hilarious and ridiculous to talk about the Ukraine people’s commitment to safety while they’re shelling a nuclear reactor, but Blinken avoided directly claiming that Russia was shelling the reactor they’ve controlled since March from the parking lot.

I guess it’s notable that the statement from State proves that State is perfectly fine with the Ukraine military shelling a nuclear power plant. But I don’t think you needed to hear they were fine with that – it’s been going on for over a week now, and the US State Department runs the Ukrainian government. Sure, it’s a war, and something unplanned could definitely happen without US approval, but not for a week.

I have no idea why the State Department would support shelling a nuclear reactor. The only possible reason would be that they want to blame it on Russia. But blaming it on Russia, as I just explained, is right now much too silly for even Ned Price (who is quite possibly the silliest person of all).

Just as a basic thing: if last week, Russia decided that they wanted to blow up a nuclear reactor they’ve controlled since March, why would they spend a week shelling it? Are they morons that can’t hit a reactor with a mortar from the parking lot? It just doesn’t make any sense.

Of course, if there was some kind of nuclear meltdown, maybe the simulations are showing that people would be emotionally distraught and therefore more likely to believe that Russia – who is running the power plant, by the way – was shelling it from the parking lot for a week for some reason… or maybe no reason?

Frankly, the situation doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. Everything has been frustrating to me lately, because I used to be able to count on some kind of rational action from the Jews, and now they are just acting goofy.

I’m interested in the difference in British and American media here, primarily. The issue of why the State Department is telling the Ukraine to blow up a nuclear reactor is simply confusing. And the fact of these media and official statements not directly blaming Russia means they know it is too stupid to blame Russia.

Also, just how dumb is this:

Additionally, the Secretary reaffirmed the United States will continue to call for an end to all military operations at or near Ukraine’s nuclear facilities, the return of full control of these facilities to Ukraine, and Moscow to end its war of choice against its sovereign neighbor.

“Leave the country completely! But not before you return control of these facilities!”

Meanwhile, Antony Blinken’s cousin Zelensky just announced again that he is planning on taking back Crimea soon.
