Of course, they couldn’t resist the urge to steal the professor’s Nintendo Switch after killing him.

A third arrest was made in connection to the murder of University of South Alabama economics professor Matthew Wiser, police announced Monday afternoon.

Mobile police arrested Curtis Anthony Womack Jr., 23. Womack is being charged with murder of Wiser, as well as possession of marijuana second degree on an unrelated case.

Wiser was found shot dead in his West Mobile home on Gaillard Road November 20, 2019. A little less than a month later, police arrested Tiquez Timmons, 20, and Derric Scott, 20, for the murder.

The murder case was sent to grand jury January 16. Investigators were able to link suspects to the murder of Wiser after the Nintendo Switch console that was stolen from Wiser’s home during the home invasion was connected to WiFi at the apartment of Timmons’ sister.

Timmons told authorities that he dropped off Scott at a golf course across the street from Wiser’s apartment the night of the murder and picked him up from a different location shortly after.

Womack was booked into Mobile County Metro Jail at 4:17 p.m. Monday, according to jail records.
