Needless to say, this situation is a lot more pressing for the people of America than some weird boondoggle in the Ukraine.
Retired Colonel Doug MacGregor appeared on Tucker Carlson Friday night to discuss the situation, and basically said that the entire Mexican government is totally controlled by the drug cartels and this is all leading towards an apocalyptic war inside of the United States.
His analysis might be a bit extreme in the short term. He says that the cartels will start attacking America if the border is closed, and I certainly can’t see anything that would lead the US government to close the Mexican border ever.
However, it is simply a natural fact that you can’t have a war inside of Mexico – a country with which we share a very long and totally open border – without that conflict spilling over into the United States at some point.
Mexican problems have spilled over into our country many times before. Pancho Villa went into Columbus, New Mexico and killed 19 random civilians and burned the town.
Mexicans think very differently than white people. They have very different historical norms.
The situation might not be existential yet, but there is an existential threat in the Mexican drug gang situation. We are totally draining our military on this war in the Ukraine, a place where the US has no interests, because the people in Washington are getting rich off of it. There is no money in defending our country against drug cartels, so these people like Kevin McCarthy simply do not care.
