I wouldn’t trust Blacks to provide me with a substance to inject into my veins.

Why would anyone think that made sense?

A judge on Friday imposed a 10-year prison sentence on an already imprisoned drug lord because a dose of the heroin he supplied to the Shore area made its way to a 23-year-old Toms River woman who died from a negative reaction to it.

Superior Court Judge Rochelle Gizinksi imposed the prison term on Rufus A. Young, 43, for causing the drug-induced death of Jamie Caravella.

Young, who previously had addresses in Asbury Park and Freehold, was not present for the sentencing because he is serving a 15-term in federal prison imposed last month in a heroin distribution conspiracy.

Gizinski also sentenced Paul E. Robinson, 26, of Toms River to five years in prison for manslaughter in the death of Caravella.

Both must serve 85 percent of their prison terms before they can be considered for release on parole, under the state’s No Early Release Act.

Caravella was found lifeless on the floor of a home on Pine Crest Drive in Toms River shortly after 5 a.m. on Feb. 6, 2013, authorities said.

An autopsy revealed she died as a result of a negative reaction to heroin, authorities said.
