CNN, reporting on comments by Israel’s UN representative made on June 10th:
Israel has vowed to persist with its military operation in Gaza, saying it won’t engage in “meaningless” negotiations with Hamas, shortly after the United Nations Security Council overwhelmingly approved a US-backed ceasefire plan intended to bring an end to the eight-month war.
Israel’s representative to the UN, Reut Shapir Ben-Naftaly, emphasized at a UNSC meeting Monday that her country wants to “ensure that Gaza doesn’t pose a threat to Israel in the future.”
The senior diplomat said the war would not end until all hostages were returned and Hamas’ capabilities were “dismantled,” accusing the Palestinian militant group of using “endless negotiations… as a means to stall for time.”
What the hell even is all of this?

Wtf?
Antony Blinken is going around talking about a peace proposal and claiming that it’s Israel’s proposal, and Hamas is refusing to agree, while Israel is saying they don’t agree with it at all, and Hamas is saying they are open to it.
Basically, the US brought this proposal to the UN and a resolution was passed that said that Israel and Hamas need to respond with a formal letter. Hamas responded formally, saying they like where this is going and they’re ready to talk. Israel has not responded.
This is the weirdest shit.
The Blinken interview is like he’s on acid.

John Kirby said in one clip at some point during this ongoing debacle *three separate times* that “this is the Israel proposal.”
What do you even say about this?
I often say “if you have child trannies, nothing can actually be bizarre anymore.” But this situation almost breaks that rule. This is a whole new type of bizarre.
Clearly, the Biden Administration is never going to say “no” to Israel. But it is also clear that behind the scenes, they are begging the Israelis to throw them some kind of a bone so they can go out and say something. This is apparently the result of something that got botched. Maybe Bibi agreed to send someone to negotiations and then changed his mind and Blinken is just too stupid to understand what this looks like.
I don’t know. It’s just so wacky. I just keep watching that Blinken interview over and over and wondering if he might actually be on acid. (He was in a 1970s rock band, so it’s not all that crazy of a suggestion.)
My thinking right now is that the best option for both parties would be for Israel to just sort of forget about Gaza and start a war with Hezbollah. Hezbollah is a real, serious military, and you would have footage of soldiers shooting at each other instead of just endless videos of children with their limbs blown off.
It’s all just frustrating to even think about.
I think I’m going to go back to watching “black women fingernails” on TikTok for a while before I continue with today’s news.
