Canada: Convoy Leader Denied Bail Because She Might Cause Mischief

Wait, she might “cause mischief”?

What, is she a juggalo?

No, actually, she’s not.

She’s some kind of liberal woman who was against the vaccines on hippie groups.

She’d been in all kinds of protest movements, and was used to getting arrested or at least hassled by cops, and probably didn’t expect that she’d end up held without bail indefinitely facing a ten-year sentence for a peaceful protest.

As far as I’m able to tell – and it’s not obvious – the ability to detain her indefinitely without trial, as well as the charges themselves, are only possible because of the martial law order Justin Trudeau enacted (and the government approved).

He stated this week that the “emergency measures” will last indefinitely, effectively announcing that the country is now a dictatorship. Aside from the obvious fact that all of these leftist globalist lunatics who run our countries want dictatorial powers, he needs these powers to punish the people who protested.

Obviously, peaceful protestors can’t be held indefinitely without bail in the pre-corona system of democracy values.

CBC:

Tamara Lich, a major organizer of the so-called Freedom Convoy, was denied bail Tuesday morning in Ottawa.

Lich, the Alberta woman behind a now-halted GoFundMe campaign that raised over $10 million to support the protest in Ottawa, was arrested and charged Thursday with counselling to commit mischief.

Before her arrest, she told journalists she wasn’t concerned about being arrested, didn’t think the protest was illegal and also said her bank account was frozen.

On Tuesday, the judge said she was not convinced Lich would go home, stay there and stop her alleged counselling.

“This community has already been impacted enough by some of the criminal activity and blockades you took part in and even led,” said Justice Julie Bourgeois.

This hasn’t aged well

“You have had plenty of opportunity to remove yourself and even others from this criminal activity but obstinately chose not to and persistently counselled others not to either.

“In Canada, every citizen can certainly disagree with and protest against government decisions but it needs to be done in a democratic fashion in abidance with the laws that have been established democratically.”

It’s always a female judge, isn’t it?

A male judge would be like “bro, she’s not a juggalo. She’s saying she’s through with mischief.”

Bourgeois said she found Lich to be guarded and “almost obstructive” at times during the initial court appearance on Saturday and the judge stated it was disturbing Lich didn’t have a plan to get home after other organizers started getting arrested.

Her husband Dwayne Lich, who would be responsible as a proposed surety to report any breach of bail conditions, gave “unreliable and not credible” evidence, Bourgeois found.

Tamara Lich, who Bourgeois says could face a “lengthy” stay in prison if convicted, is scheduled to return to court on March 2.

Yeah, they’re literally talking about ten years.

For a peaceful protest.

The term “peaceful protests” has virtually no meaning anymore, after every government official and media personality in America called BLM-Antifa burning down cities “peaceful protesting.”

But this was literally a protest without violence.

Until the cops showed up and started beating people with clubs, spraying them, and running them down with horses.

They also released LRAD sonic weapons against them.

This is what we keep saying about democracy.

It’s not sustainable, because it is just too brutal and too abusive.

It is the one system of government where the people have no say at all, and no ability to redress grievances.

That isn’t some ironic talking point – the United States was not founded as a democracy, and the Founding Fathers were extremely against it, saying that it could only lead to tyranny.

This isn’t some secret.

Or I guess it is a secret? It’s not taught in schools.

But democracy was only brought into America during the turn of the 20th century – a period when Canada was still ruled directly by the crown.

You can read about this in H.L. Mencken’s works.

I recommend you do. They’re a lot of fun. And informative.

Not to mention prescient.
