Down Syndrome Activist Greta Thunberg to Prevent Bad Weather by Taking Private Yacht Trip

Down Syndrome Fashion Model and Bad Weather Activist Greta Thunberg is pioneering a brave new way to keep the weather from changing. Why take commercial airline flights, when you could just travel everywhere in racing yachts with European royalty?

Until everyone starts doing this, the polar bears will just keep on melting.

Daily Mail:

Teenage climate change activist Greta Thunberg plans to take her message to the United States – but instead of flying, she’s going to set sail across the Atlantic after shunning planes.

The Swedish teenager, who inspired tens of thousands of school students across the world to skip class for a day to protest for faster action against climate change, said she spent months trying to figure out how to travel to the US without flying on a plane. She said she has ruled out using them due to their high greenhouse gas emissions.

The 16-year-old tweeted that she plans to leave Britain in August aboard the Malizia II to attend the United Nations climate summits in New York in September and Santiago, Chile, in December.

As well as ruling out flying on a plane on the trip, Thunberg also refuses to travel aboard a cruise ship as they’re notoriously big polluters. Meanwhile, sailors rarely brave the Atlantic in August because of hurricane risks.

In an interview during her weekly ‘Fridays for Future’ protest outside Swedish parliament in Stockhold, Thunberg said: ‘Taking a boat to North America is basically impossible.

‘I have had countless people helping me, trying to contact different boats.’

The yacht she’ll be crossing the Atlantic with is a far cry from the Viking ships that first brought Scandinavians to America.

Captained by yachtsman Boris Herrmann, the 60-foot Malizia II is fitted with solar panels and underwater turbines to generate zero-carbon electricity on board.

Thunberg will also be accompanied on the two-week journey by a filmmaker, her father Svante and Pierre Casiraghi, the grandson of Monaco’s late Prince Rainier III and American actress Grace Kelly.

Is this what she thinks everyone should do? The whole point of activism is modeling what other people should do. Does she think that everyone can and should replace trans-Atlantic air travel with two-week private racing yacht trips?

Malizia II, the yacht bringing Greta Thunberg to America

This naive child has unwittingly become the figurehead for the general state of climate naivete.

If we can put aside for a moment the fact that none of this will change the weather, and take at face value these people’s assumptions about what needs to be done to stop the Perpetually Impending Apocalypse, the only logical conclusion is that everyone should abandon the modern consumer lifestyle and revert to Rice Paddy Nationalism™. If she really wanted to save the planet, she would just go Full Amish.

I would fully support this move, but for different reasons.

She would be a genuinely interesting figure if she would just go live in a little solar-powered cabin and grow potatoes and cabbage, raise chickens, ride a bicycle, and drink melted snow while running her Twitter and a YouTube channel and giving teleconferences about how people don’t need to be constantly buying things, throwing them away and traveling long distances in order to be personally satisfied with their lives.

Of course, that would defeat the real purpose of this, which is not to sacrifice unsustainable modernity, but to replace it with unfeasibly expensive alternatives, and to attempt to obtain the maximum possible number of trendy people cheering her on for how virtuous she is for doing her weird stunts and annoying public appearances.

In 2019, even little girls with Mosaic Down syndrome can run around taking staged photos of themselves in increasingly weird situations, and endless retards will shower them with praise and tell them how brave and important they are.

In that sense, she’s the perfect Climate Apocalypse activist – just not in the way she thinks she is.
