Just replace the word “Moslems” with “Jews” and the number 1.5 billion with 15 million, and you have what is actually happening in reality.
Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi said on Wednesday freedom of expression should stop if it offends more than 1.5 billion people, following the display of images in France of the Prophet Mohammad that Muslims see as blasphemous.
Sisi also said he firmly rejects any form of violence or terrorism from anyone in the name of defending religion, religious symbols or icons.
“We also have rights. We have the right for our feelings not to be hurt and for our values not to be hurt,” he said during an address to commemorate the Prophet Mohammad’s birthday.
“And if some have the freedom to express what is in their thoughts I imagine that this stops when it comes to offending the feelings of more than 1.5 billion people,” he added in televised remarks.
The Grand Imam of Egypt’s al-Azhar university, one of the world’s most eminent seats of Sunni Muslim learning, also called on the international community to criminalise “anti-Muslim” actions.
Jews are actually much worse than Moslems.
Moslems are calling for criminalizing something very specific, which doesn’t really affect anything.
Obviously, I don’t support criminalizing these cartoons, but we have to admit: nothing would really change about society if you weren’t allowed to draw Muhammed cartoons. The only actual social changes would be from the implications that come from the realization that Moslems have enough power to force such a change.
With Jews: they ban literally all criticism of themselves outright, to the point where you’re really not even allowed to mention them at all. Most harrowingly: they ban research into an alleged historical event which they themselves have made the single most important historical event in human history.
The question of how the Jews got this much power is never answered and never asked, because as stated: you are courting legal problems or at least being fired and potentially sued by simply mentioning the absurd amount of power that Jews have in Western society. As such, most people have never stood in awe of the overwhelming power of the Jews, which enables them to ban entire categories of historical research, as well as any and all criticism of them as a group.
Meanwhile, the Jews themselves will mock Moslems for being overly sensitive about these cartoons.
What is Going on with This Cartoon Business?
I just want to say again, as I always do when discussing Muhammed cartoons: I do not understand what the point of these cartoons is. France invited these people to come live in their country, now they’re harassing them by insulting their most sacred beliefs.
Why?
By the way, this is not just a newspaper – the whole French society and government support Muhammed cartoons.
Did you see where the French projected the cartoons across government buildings?
They said it was for “defiance.”
Defiance of what? Of Moslems and Islam?
If you defy these people, then why did you invite them into your country?
This is like:
- You are invited to someone’s house for dinner
- It’s a big dinner, everything’s beautiful
- He even insists you have sex with his hot daughter
- Then, when you’re having coffee and getting ready for a nap, he gets up in your face and starts screaming at you that nothing you care about matters, that you are meaningless, that everything you believe is a lie
I don’t understand how this is supposed to be political?
Frankly, it’s just rude and it actually trivializes the real issues that people have with an Islamic invasion, which has very little to do with the specifics of their religious beliefs.
It is not at all clear what the point of this is. It’s clearly some kind of organized agenda.
The French ideal was to bring a bunch of brown people into their country and make them all atheists and then have an interracial atheist utopia. I’m not sure what the point of that would be, but that is what their stated agenda has been for decades.
However, this big push for Muhammed cartoons is extreme. It actually looks as though they’re purposefully trying to incite the Islamic world for some other, unrelated reason.
