So, regulators are coming closer to approving a female version of Viagra. Because women don’t need erections, is just a pill that makes women horny.

This sounds suspiciously like a more ethical date-rape drug.

It would be sort of funny if they advertised it that way.

BBC:

The experts backed flibanserin, but said it must carry warnings about strong possible side effects including fainting and tiredness.

Ha! So it isn’t really that much different than the old date-rape drugs!

The final decision now moves to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The FDA has rejected the drug twice since 2010 but it usually follows the advice of its experts.

Women taking the drug reported between 0.5 and one more sexually satisfying event per month, results experts admitted were “modest”.

“But on the other hand, even modest results can make a lot of difference when you’re at a certain point in the clinical problem,” said Dr Julia Heiman of the Kinsey Institute at Indiana University.

One patient who received the drug explained its appeal.

“I want to want my husband, it is that simple,” said Amanda Parrish. “For us, flibanserin is a relationship-saving and life-changing drug.”

It is a sad day when anyone needs to take drugs to make them want to do anything. But I guess there are way more fun things than sex these days. Like Candy Crush. Or posting selfies on Facebook.

I’ve been growing a beard. And looking in the mirror at my progress is at least three and perhaps four times more fun than sex. I also enjoy getting angry watching The Young Turks on YouTube.

The question here is: wasn’t drinking liquor always more fun than sex?

Seems like it’s an activity people pretty much should have given up on centuries ago.
