German consumers should not expect price spikes to subside in the coming months, the Federation of German Industries (BDI) said in a survey of major industry groups, published by Reuters on December 30.
According to the report, inflation is likely to remain high throughout the next year, and the 2% target rate set by the European Central bank (ECB) may not be reached until at least 2025.
“A return to a level of 2% is likely to take longer and can only be achieved by the middle of the decade, if monetary policy takes effect,” BDI President Siegfried Russwurm said. He noted that more measures by the ECB aiming to stem inflation would cause a further drop in investment activity.
Over the summer, the ECB abandoned its long-standing zero interest rate policy and hiked the key rate in several steps to the current 2.5%.
“Inflation started rising before the energy crisis and will continue for the time being. We have to assume that [it] will remain above the reasonable ECB target of 2% for some time,” Peter Adrian, head of the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK), said. According to him, the ECB began its interest rate hikes too late, which means it must now raise them at an accelerated pace.
It seems that many Europeans may be wondering if it was a good idea to put the Germans in charge of the entire European economy. Stoltenberg is talking about “a lot of money for a long time.” This is a bottomless pit and it is going to last for infinity. This Russia thing is going to last for untold years, and there is zero reason to believe that these people are going to stop at Russia. They are already talking about China constantly.

They’ve consistently low-balled the numbers, and they have to rely to some extent on the Ukrainians reporting them, so it’s obviously much higher than that. And the big Russian push hasn’t even started yet.

Given the nature of industrial food production, it’s extremely unlikely that anyone is going to get to the point of starving. They will just keep on taking this from these perverts.
The only possible solution to this situation is for the power structure of the West to collapse. That is why I support Russia. It’s obvious that Russia is in the right morally – Stoltenberg is literally promoting the Bucha hoax, still – but that isn’t the primary concern. The primary concern, for me, is about what is best for my country and my people, and secondarily for the cousins in the Anglosphere and Europe, and for anything good to happen in our countries, this ruling elite has to be removed from power.
