New Zealand: As Protesters Get Beaten by Cops, They Cry Out for More Democracy

Many are beginning to wonder aloud if democracy is simply too authoritarian, too oppressive, and too anti-human to continue to exist very much longer.

The problem is that we can’t simply abandon democracy for a less radically oppressive and abusive system, because democracy is our values and who we are.

What do you do when destroying freedom and crushing the human spirit is who you are, and that’s your values?

You can’t simply change your values, because your values are who you are. It’s just like genetics – you either have a XX XY chromosome and you can’t just – wait, sorry, bad example.

It’s more like if you’re born as a human, but you try to become a cat, and then – wait, no, another bad example.

Basically, democracy being who you are is like being a neo-Nazi. No matter how a neo-Nazi tries to change, he is always going to be metaphysically evil, because of the Holocaust of the six trillion. That’s what it’s like when democracy is who you are – you’re locked in, forever.

You can’t stop being who you are, especially when that’s your values. So we’re really locked into this democracy thing until everyone is either dead or in prison, or has a microchip in their brain controlling their thoughts and behavior.

RT:

New Zealand police cracked down on protesters outside Parliament in Wellington on Thursday, arresting more than 50 people after forcibly dispersing the demonstration against Covid-19 restrictions.

Shortly before the scuffles erupted, police threatened the crowd of around 150 protesters with arrest if they refused to leave the area voluntarily. Those who ignored the order were subsequently detained by law enforcement.

Protesters could be seen chanting “this is not democracy” and “shame on you” as police officers moved in to clear the grounds.

It actually is democracy.

This is well into the coronavirus hysteria, and Ardern did significantly better than in the election before Covid mania.

I don’t really think that pretending “democracy” has some secret, different definition than the one that is widely accepted and used by 99% of the global population helps to communicate any message.

What people should be saying is “we’ve had enough of democracy! We are human beings and we deserve freedom and dignity! End democracy! Throw them out!”

Shouting about “real democracy” just makes you look pathetic and hopeless.

It’s an unwinnable fight.

Footage showed police officers tearing down tents that had been erected by protesters and scuffling with the protesters unwilling to scatter on their own.

“Police continue to appeal to protestors to leave Parliament Grounds peacefully, as the area is closed to the public,” New Zealand Police said in a statement on Thursday.

“We continue to acknowledge people’s rights to protest, however those who behave unlawfully will face arrest,” the statement continued.

By 11:30 am, New Zealand Police claimed to have arrested more than 50 protesters on charges such as trespass and obstruction for remaining on Parliament grounds after they decreed the area closed to the public.

“Wellingtonians have the right to conduct their lives and go about their business without the interference of ongoing unlawful activity,” the police declared, warning that “additional resources” would be “deployed from around the country” to crack down on protests if they continued.

“You have a right to protest but actually, you don’t have a right to protest and this is illegal and you’re under arrest.”

It reminds me of the classic meme.

Chad Democracy Enforcers vs. Virgin Protesters Who Support Democracy But Just Not When It’s Arresting Them.

Democracy – at least universal suffrage democracy – is always going to be completely antithetical to freedom and individual rights, no matter what. There is always going to be some huckster or con artist who can convince 51% of the population to do literally anything.

This isn’t some kind of esoteric mysticism.

You don’t need to consult the Gnostic mysteries of Thelema to grasp to concept.

It used to just be basic common sense.

When you add in the controlled and completely censored electronic media, this all just becomes idiotic beyond the point where it’s possible to believe we’re even having this discussion.

Stop saying “we want democracy.”

None of the people asking for freedom want democracy, or they wouldn’t be asking for freedom – because we live under democracy, and we don’t have any freedom.

What we need to be asking for is:

  • Freedom
  • Personal autonomy
  • Right to petition the government
  • Right to participate in the process of governing
  • Private property
  • Privacy

Basically, what people should be asking for is the Republican system that was created by the Founding Fathers, including and most importantly the Bill of Rights, which should be enforced universally.
