No NATO for Ukraine, Says Germany (Russia has Effectively Won the War)

By the terms laid out at the time of the invasion, Putin has already won the war in the Ukraine.

He has more territory than he originally demanded, the Ukrainian military has been totally decimated, and now every major Western nation is agreeing with him that the Ukraine can’t join NATO.

The Western media of course lied about Putin’s stated objectives. At least they lied by omission, never mentioning his demands, and arguing that he was just invading to be mean, with the goal of trying to absorb the entire Ukraine state.

One of the reasons for the lie is so they could say “well, we sort of won, because Putin didn’t take all of the Ukraine – we got to keep half of it!”

RT:

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has argued that NATO should use its upcoming summit to marshall more military aid for Ukraine rather than pushing for the country to join the bloc. The US-led alliance is divided on the speed of Ukraine’s accession, with Britain demanding a fast-tracked process.

“We have to take a sober look at the current situation,” Scholz told parliament in Berlin on Thursday. Scholz added that Ukrainian officials have admitted “that joining NATO is out of the question” for as long as the conflict with Russia is raging, and the Western bloc should focus on other means of “support” for Kiev.

“Therefore, I suggest we focus on the top priority in Vilnius, namely strengthening the combat power of Ukraine,” he argued, referring to the July summit in the Lithuanian capital.

This is so wacky.

If you want them to join NATO when the war is over, then why not end the war?

Oh, because Putin wouldn’t agree to terms that involved the Ukraine joining NATO.

“Our goal is… a sustainable military support of Ukraine, including with modern Western weapons,” he said, adding that EU and G7 nations could work out “security guarantees” for Ukraine in the absence of full NATO membership.

I have to keep saying this: a peace deal with Russia would include “security guarantees.” The Ukraine always had security guarantees with Russia before the US-backed 2014 Maidan coup, and they had security guarantees under the Minsk Accords, which they unilaterally abolished by continuing to attack the Donbass.

NATO’s official position on Ukrainian membership remains unchanged since 2008, when it declared that Ukraine “will become a member” at an unspecified point in the future. As long as the conflict with Russia is ongoing, this will be unlikely to shift, as Ukraine joining NATO would place the bloc at war with Russia. Prospective members can only join with the unanimous consent of all existing members.

Nevertheless, the European Parliament wants NATO leaders to use the Vilnius summit to extend a membership invitation to Ukraine, as do Polish, Lithuanian, and Ukrainian lawmakers. The UK backs these calls for urgency, with Foreign Secretary James Cleverly stating earlier on Thursday that London “would be very, very supportive” of NATO expediting Ukraine’s accession to the bloc.

Britain is the only major country pushing this.

But the US is not, and in fact, the US just cockblocked Britain’s attempt to become leader of NATO.

RT:

The British government is frustrated by US President Joe Biden’s decision not to endorse the candidacy of UK Defence Secretary Ben Wallace to become the next NATO secretary-general, the Daily Telegraph reported on Thursday, citing sources.

According to unnamed senior British officials interviewed by the paper, London felt “badly let down” by Biden’s apparent refusal, suggesting that it could throw a wrench into the ‘special relationship’ between the two Western states. “We’re supposed to be their closest ally. And this is what we get. It is what it is… but it is bad for UK-US relations,” one source said.

He also went on to complain that Washington has done the UK “a bad turn” by favoring a “Danish lady,” an apparent reference to Mette Frederiksen, the prime minister of Denmark, who has been rumored to have good chances of becoming the next NATO chief.

Yeah, put some wild and unhinged cunt in charge.

Okay.

In other NATO news, Scott Ritter has a big piece up at RT where he claims, I believe accurately, that the US must have known that this “counteroffensive” was a joke and that they were just shoving warm bodies into a meat grinder.

It’s also possible that Washington is so filled with morons and liars that they didn’t know how bad things would be. Remember, these are the same people that did the Afghanistan surrender, which was previously the single most embarrassing military debacle in American history.

I think it’s fair to say that this “spring counteroffensive” that they spent six months promoting dying within three weeks is even more shameful than the Afghan surrender.

This week, it’s pretty much been agreed upon that the offensive failed, and that the Ukrainian forces have actually stopped trying, and now Russians are making a push.

The Ukrainians are saying that when they get more weapons, they are going to do more and more counteroffensives. But this was a massive army that the US trained and armed, it was the new Ukraine army, and it just splattered against the wall in such a monumental and grotesque fashion that I can’t really believe they are just going to keep doing this.

Where are they going to get the men?

What about morale?

What about the remaining population of the Ukraine, which has to be on the verge of an uprising?

What about the French, now on their way to meet with BRICS?

Will the Germans continue to nod along as they have, as their economy is destroyed so the US can mass murder Ukrainians for no reason?

Sometime next week, we’re going to start to hear the real shit getting really real.

If I could return to Twitter for just one day, it would be next Thursday. That is when the reality of the situation will be setting in, when these retards will no longer be able to say things like “the anal warriors of the Jewish neo-Nazi state of Keev are on the verge of taking back Crimea.”

They were literally saying that this week.

Next week, they are going to have to admit that the offensive is over, and they are now preparing for next summer’s spring offensive.

As I’ve said, I think it will take a few weeks or months for them to slowly wind this down in the media, with consecutively more dire-sounding headlines. The media can’t admit they were lying and Russia has always been winning, so they now have to make it sound like something has changed.

Either that, or NATO will invade.
