Not Satire: Joe Biden Tells Coal Miners to Learn to Code

I thought it was a joke when I read the headline.

But no, he actually said this.

Former Vice President Joe Biden gave coal miners a suggestion while on the campaign trail: ditch the mines and learn to code. It’s all a part of his plan to make America a little more ‘green.’

The Biden campaign has long called for America to reduce its carbon footprint by moving away from fossil fuels. During a campaign stop in New Hampshire, the former vice president suggested he’d hold executives accountable and “put them in jail” for using fossil fuels.

However, it was his advice to lifelong coal miners that received the most backlash. In the interests of a ‘greener economy,’ Biden pushed the crowd to transition out of mining and into coding.

“Anybody who can go down 300 to 3,000 feet into a mine sure as hell can learn how to program as well,” he said. “Anybody who can throw coal into a furnace can learn how to program for god’s sake.”

Many were quick to criticize Biden, calling his comments reductive, tone-deaf and unhelpful.

According to the Brookings Institute, the number of coal industry jobs has plummeted by 40 percent over the past decade. Studies suggested there’s little proof retraining programs are actually successful in finding people jobs with equal or higher pay. Reports said some of those jobs only pay $12 to $15 an hour compared to the $75,000 salary coal miners receive while working in the mines.

“Tone deaf” doesn’t even begin to describe it.

This is like boomer self-parody.

I just cannot hardly even believe this happened in real life.

Of course, with tranny story time and Trump starting a new war in Iraq, I can believe anything is real life at this point, as real life has proven to be a gigantic hoax of some kind.

But wow just wow.

No, you cannot teach 50-year-old coal miners to write JavaScript.

The media floated this idea back a few years ago.

They were roundly mocked for either being completely out of touch, or simply being hateful and despising the working class.

Then when a whole bunch of media people were being laid off in early 2019, people were tweeting at them that they should “learn to code.”

This was throwing their out of touchness and/or hatred back at them, and it was deemed hate speech by Twitter, who started banning people for telling journalists to learn to code.

These people really flipped out.

Calling out the people telling journalists to learn to code as malicious was basically an admission that when the media told coal miners to learn to code, they were being malicious.

Needless to say, there is a whole lot of baggage behind the concept of telling blue collar workers put out of work by globalism to learn to code.

It’s also simply retarded.

I think of the boomers that I know in my own life, just about all of whom are white collar professionals, and it has been difficult to teach them to use iPhones. Everyone is aware of this.

A lot of boomers still read physical newspapers, to this day, because they can’t figure out how to read news on the internet.

So suggesting that they’re going to learn JavaScript is like suggesting they’re going to go get jobs at NASA designing spaceships.

It’s utterly nonsensical.

I recently wrote about the fact that it is very important to learn a marketable skill before you hit your late twenties.

Coal miners did that. Coal mining is a legitimate profession. Or at least it was. It was a skillset involving the operating of machinery, understanding of complex systems, etc. that could earn you $75,000 a year by the time you’re 30 in a relatively rural area where that’s enough to own a three bedroom house, two cars and have a wife who stays at home or works part time.

These people were responsible and built a life plan, and that plan was pulled out from under them by the global warming hoax – something that they never could have predicted and something they were not warned of.

They are casualties of an ideological war.

Maybe some of those billions that are being poured into the IPCC should be spent on providing these men with pensions?
