The US is the one that steals the elections.
Not making friends with China offers zero benefits to a third world country, and creates a lot of problems for no reason.
You would vote for Taiwan because you watched some emotional video about like, lesbians getting top surgery.
Can’t imagine a whole nation of Latins would do that.
Supporters of a right-wing candidate who came third in Paraguayās presidential election clashed with police outside the electoral court on Monday, amid complaints of fraud in a vote that the ruling Colorado Party won comfortably.
Police put up fences around the courtās headquarters and fired rubber bullets at young protesters who were throwing stones, authorities said, after hundreds of supporters of Paraguayo Cubas gathered.
Elsewhere, demonstrators blocked roads with burning tires and destroying billboards with the photo of President-elect Santiago Pena, a 44-year-old economist who won 43% of the vote on Sunday compared with 27% for runner-up Efrain Alegre.
Cubas, who surprised observers by winning nearly 23% of the vote, called in a post on Instagram for a recount and asked his supporters to protest.
āWe are not satisfied. The elections were stolen from us. Itās that simple,ā Yolanda Paredes, a senator-elect and the wife of Cubas, told reporters.
…
Runner-up Alegre said on Twitter that he too was calling for the electoral court to do a recount and for an international audit of the computer programs used in electronic ballot boxes.
Yeah, I’m sure there was a lot going on, and it was just the English speaking media that made it all about Taiwan.
But sort of… everything is about whether you’re on China’s side or America’s side. It’s the defining issue of the age for every country.
Most of Latin America is choosing wisely.

I’m calling “fake.”
The people all say it’s fake, it doesn’t make any sense why it would be real, so the simplest explanation is it’s fake.
