A 19-year-old man is in jail in connection with the death of a 21-year-old at a Corpus Christi apartment complex in March.
Corpus Christi police said Jason Ortiz was arrested Tuesday night in the 1200 block of Leopard Street. He had a warrant on suspicion of murder, police said.
Ortiz is the second person in custody in connection with the death of Damian Buch, 21, at an apartment on Brett Drive on March 4.
Detavion Falkquay, 19, was arrested in McAllen on March 9, police said. Falkquay was later extradited to the Nueces County Jail. His bail is set at $150,000.
Ortiz remained at the Nueces County Jail on suspicion of murder.
Investigators said there were no signs of forced entry at the apartment, and at least three people were seen fleeing the area. Police said it was “not a random act of violence.”
