Boris Johnson, six Tory MPs and two political aides are self-isolating after a breakfast meeting inside Downing Street last Thursday.
One of the MPs, Lee Anderson, later tested positive for Covid-19, and on Sunday the prime minister was told to self-isolate by NHS Test and Trace.
In a video from No 10, Mr Johnson urged others to “follow the rules” if contacted by the system.
The PM’s official spokesman insisted that Downing Street is “Covid-secure”.He said “social distancing did happen” but factors such as the length of the meeting were considered by Test and Trace.
Mr Johnson, who was admitted to intensive care with coronavirus seven months ago, spent about 35 minutes with Mr Anderson – who lost his sense of taste the day after the meeting.

In the video, the PM added: “The good news is that NHS Test and Trace is working ever-more efficiently, but the bad news is that they’ve pinged me and I’ve got to self-isolate because someone I was in contact with a few days ago has developed Covid.
“It doesn’t matter that we were all doing social distancing, it doesn’t matter that I’m fit as a butcher’s dog, feel great.
“And actually, it doesn’t matter that I’ve had the disease and I’m bursting with antibodies. We’ve got to interrupt the spread of the disease and one of the ways we can do that now is by self-isolating for 14 days when contacted by Test and Trace.”
According to No 10, the prime minister has had at least one antibody test for coronavirus.
Along with making a high-profile viral promotion of the idiotic claim you can get coronavirus twice, Johnson is also skipping out on crucial Brexit talks.
European Union diplomats warned Britain on Monday that time was fast running out for a Brexit deal, and that it may already be too late to ratify one, as negotiators in Brussels began a last-ditch attempt to avoid a tumultuous exit at the end of December.
Almost five years since the Brexit referendum campaign began, Britain and the EU have still not worked out how nearly $1 billion in trade per year will operate once Britain leaves a status quo transition arrangement on Dec. 31.
Ireland, the EU nation most exposed to Brexit, said there were around 7-10 days to find a way to unlock trade talks, while a senior EU official said it “may be too late already” to put any trade deal into force in time.
“It’s getting terribly late and may be too late already,” said a senior EU official, as talks between the bloc’s negotiator Michel Barnier and his British counterpart, David Frost, resumed in Brussels.
Not that it even matters.
Brexit, like Donald Trump’s presidency, is something that the globalists have said isn’t allowed to happen.
Trump is fighting, but Johnson isn’t going to fight.
But “oh my, I had the deadly coronavirus a second time and so I couldn’t attend the talks” is a good excuse when the worst possible scenario unfolds.
