Sweden: Police Searching for Man Who Stabbed Elderly Swede in the Back

Police are now chasing a perpetrator in Borås who stabbed an elderly man in the back. The incident is classified as attempted murder and the police have sent a helicopter.

It was at 11am on Tuesday that the police were alerted to an assault on the outdoors in Erikslund in Borås. The incident was later reclassified as an attempted murder.

Ambulance and emergency services were dispatched to the site where an injured man was found.

The victim is in his 70s.

“The injured man was taken by ambulance to hospital, according to information it could be a knife injury,” the police write on their website.

Police are searching the area around Kolonigatan and Saltemadsgatan and say that they are looking for a “lone offender dressed in white shoes, gray hoodie, light pants. The man carries a bag with him”.

The police have also called in several police patrols as well as a police helicopter in the pursuit of the perpetrator. No one has been arrested yet.
