The alarm about the knife attack at the tram stop in exposed Hjällbo in Gothenburg was received by the police at 06.37 on Sunday.
The woman, who is in her 40s, was cut in the hand when she boarded a tram. She states that a man grabbed her and tried to pull her out of the carriage, which failed.
The man then got off and the woman called the police, whereupon the suspect could be arrested in the immediate area.
