Teenaper Arrested After White Man is Found Shot in Back of Wrecked Vehicle

A Hilltop teenager was arrested early Sunday morning in connection with the shooting death of a 26-year-old man on the Near East Side.

Columbus police found the victim, Roger Kenneth Pindell, shot in the back of a wrecked vehicle in the 500 block of Seymour Avenue just before 2 a.m. Sunday, according to a press release.

Pindell, of the West Side, was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:09 a.m.

Witnesses told police that a group of men who were inside the vehicle fled the scene after the shooting. Police located a group carrying several guns about a mile from the scene.

Keyontay Perry, 17, who lives on the Hilltop, was arrested and charged with a delinquency count of murder, according to the release.

Police said the reason for the Sunday morning shooting is still under investigation.
