The Post is doing such great reporting on the Uvalde shooting that you wonder if Twitter is going to lock their account as a threat to the values of our democracy again.
Give the devil his due.
Two years before the massacre at Robb Elementary School that left 19 fourth-graders and their two teachers dead, the Uvalde Police Department boasted online about having its own SWAT team.
The department posted a picture on Facebook of nine heavily armed officers with the caption “Meet Our SWAT Team.”
The unit was making visits throughout the community that day “to familiarize themselves with layouts of our local schools and businesses,” according to the February 2020 post.
But when terror came to the tiny Texas town, it’s not clear if tactical unit that seemingly trained for just such a moment turned out to respond, a law enforcement source said.
“There were so many officers, so many agencies involved,” the source said.
The state’s Department of Public Safety, which is probing the response to the shooting, is still trying to determine which agencies were on the scene and the role each played. In Texas, it’s not uncommon for multiple law enforcement officials from different agencies to respond to an incident together.
“When you have so many agencies in an active situation, you have officers inside, those officers are responsible for containing the threat,” the source said. “And you have officers outside containing the perimeter.”
Parents of students at the school complained that the cops outside during the incident prevented them from entering the building. One frantic mom was even handcuffed as she begged cops to enter the building at take out 18-year-old Salvator Ramos.
The first responders wrongly believing the situation had gone from an “active shooter” to a “barricaded” scenario, and waited more than an hour after the shooting started before they entered the classroom and shot the shooter.
The source said Uvalde police officers were among the makeshift group that stormed the classroom with a hero US Customs and Border Protection agent. Some of the Uvalde SWAT team may have been with them, but investigators are still putting the pieces together.
It’s really just not even believable that these people literally have no idea what even happened.
They don’t know if the SWAT team was there? Can’t they just ask them? And isn’t there all kinds of video?
I don’t want to hear “oh it’s because Mexicans are dumb” – that is not an argument because no one thinks this would have happened in Mexico. In Mexico, the shooter would have been dead in 5 minutes – whether it was local police, military police, private security, or a drug gang, someone would have just went in and shot him immediately.
This type of incompetence is not “third world.” It is uniquely American.
This is also very interesting:
“Maybe I am wrong but I haven’t seen or heard from our Uvalde PD at all?” resident Norma Hidalgo posted on Facebook early Saturday, noting that they’ve been talked about but no one from the department has addressed the public. “I really hope our Uvalde Police Department will come forth and just talk to us. To everyone. Help our community heal.”
I have no way of confirming this – I can’t view Facebook, and Uvalde Police apparently only post on Facebook. But they haven’t given any press conference or anything, this is being done by state and federal authorities.
This entire thing is really a circus. It sure as hell looks like a conspiracy to cause as many deaths as possible, but of course a lot of people can’t really comprehend the idea that the government would do something like this (unless they are full on QAnon believers). I don’t know how you can be aware of the fact that the US government invaded Iraq for literally no reason and now admits to lying to the public about it while George Bush gets up and makes jokes about it, and believe they wouldn’t kill kids.

“Wholly unjustified and brutal” is a big joke, but thousands of Americans and hundreds of thousands of Iraqis died. It’s not really totally funny. Well, I guess it’s kinda alpha to be like “lol yeah.” Point being: you think they wouldn’t shoot up some Mexicans in a school to take your guns?
Here’s the thing: right now, the plan seems to be to go with “everyone is just totally incompetent and no one had any idea what was going on and we don’t even know who was responsible for any of it.”
Maybe there will be some group that takes the fall. I mean, I assume the city will get sued and have to pay these parents.
What they are going to end up doing is saying that this proves we need a totally unified national police force run by the feds, so there is “central coordination.”
That’s what they’re doing with the treaty to hand over sovereignty to the WHO, right? Saying we need a central authority, because of the incompetent communication tactics of the government?
“Global Pandemic Treaty” espoused by WEF, Biden Admin & WHO is a despicable, thinly veiled attempt to override our Constitution/sovereignty. If enacted, WHO could dictate US policy & track our every move via universal digital IDs. We must not let them usurp our freedom.
