Carbon dioxide emissions must fall by the equivalent of a global lockdown roughly every two years for the next decade for the world to keep within safe limits of global heating, research has shown.
Lockdowns around the world led to an unprecedented fall in emissions of about 7% in 2020, or about 2.6bn tonnes of CO2, but reductions of between 1bn and 2bn tonnes are needed every year of the next decade to have a good chance of holding temperature rises to within 1.5C or 2C of pre-industrial levels, as required by the Paris agreement.
Research published on Wednesday shows that countries were beginning to slow their rates of greenhouse gas emissions before the Covid-19 pandemic struck, but not to the levels needed to avert climate breakdown. Since lockdowns were eased in many countries last year, there have been strong signs that emissions will rise again to above 2019 levels, severely damaging the prospects of fulfilling the Paris goals.
Corinne Le Quéré, lead author of the study, said the world stood at a crucial point as governments poured money into the global economy to cope with the impacts of the pandemic. “We need a cut in emissions of about the size of the fall [from the lockdowns] every two years, but by completely different methods,” she said.
Governments must prioritise climate action in their efforts to recover from the pandemic, she said. “We have failed to understand in the past that we can’t have tackling climate change as a side issue. It can’t be about one law or policy, it has to be put at the heart of all policy,” she said. “Every strategy and every plan from every government must be consistent with tackling climate change.”

You should remember: there is still no real evidence that carbon causes warming. Yes, “98% of climatologists agree” it’s real – because “climatology” is a fake science invented by the United Nations to promote global warming. This is like saying “98% of Chinese masseuses believe handjobs are relaxing.”

Furthermore, they’re losing their own plot, and saying that it will also cause cooling.
If people will believe that, after a decade of hearing that the ice caps are going to melt and they’re going to be sweating all the time, then people will believe anything.

None of this is real. It’s all a gigantic hoax to seize control of people’s lives, and to justify why people are living in poverty when given the rate of technological development, we should all be living like the Jetsons.
If you go to China, as soon as you get off the plane you feel like you’ve landed on a base on Mars in the year 2121. Everything is high tech, everyone appears well off and comfortable, there are no homeless people or drugs, there’s no broken down mess. Part of that is the racial makeup of the country, and part of it is authoritarian government, but the bottom line is this: they are applying existing technological knowledge to make life better for people in the country.
White countries are not applying existing technologies, they’re allowing corporations to dominate the society and exploit the masses of people, keeping them in poverty. This is part of a large, weird agenda.
What they’ve realized is that if they cloak gibberish and gobbledygook in the vestiges of “science,” they are able to get away with anything.
It’s not dissimilar from Aztec priests telling people that if they don’t slaughter people ritually, the sun will go black and the corn will stop growing.
Of course, there is a key difference: the average Aztec citizen had no ability to know that the priests just made it up. We have leaked emails showing that the climatologists are faking it. We can also just look at how wrong every single graph they’ve produced has been.
But still, the people believe.
Most people do not appear to have any mechanism in their brains to trigger that an authority could ever be wrong about anything. Even right-wing people just tend to point to different authorities.
