63-year-old woman was left “bloody and battered” after a neighbor broke a bottle over her head during a home invasion, prosecutors said Sunday.
Derdra Brown, 57, and Willie Polk, 49, allegedly forced their way into an apartment near the 1500 block of North Sedgwick Street in Old Town on Friday night and demanded money from the victim, who is Brown’s neighbor.
The victim was repeatedly punched in the face during the attack in her home. She broke her pinky finger and suffered cuts and bruises after Brown hit her in the head with a bottle, according to prosecutors. Brown and Polk were arrested shortly after the attack about 11 p.m. at the Old Town apartment building.
They were each charged with home invasion and aggravated battery of a victim over 60 years old.
