This weekend, the French are again protesting a law that says you can’t film cops. I thought the government already backed off, but apparently they backed off and then shuffled back on.
So the cops had to beat people up.

It’s almost as though every weekend now has some ritual “demonstration” that involves people getting beaten up by cops, gassed, sprayed with water, so that we all get the message that we are living under a brutal, militarized police state and all resistance is futile.
It feels like: “daily reminder: cops will beat you up if you try to disagree with the government about anything, ever.”
