Safety regulators warned that everyone should stop using this immediately after a child was killed and many others injured.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said children and at least one pet were pulled, pinned and entrapped under the rear roller of the Tread+ treadmill, leading to fractures, scrapes and the death of one child.
The safety commission said in a news release and in emails that it knows of 39 “incidents” with the treadmill, involving “multiple” or “dozens” of children, but it did not specify a number of children. It said the majority of the incidents resulted in injuries, including the one death.
The machine costs more than $4,000!
I guess you get what you pay for – if you’re paying to murder your children! (Though a pit bull would have been cheaper.)
If you’re paying to get in shape, well, then you should have bought a jump rope and some kettle bells, because jogging is a total hoax.
It’s crazy that after all these years, people are still jogging.
Go for a sprint, okay fine. That’s good for heart health. But jogging? This is just destroying your joints. A treadmill is safer than concrete, I guess, but it’s still ridiculous.
