What Happened to “Don’t Tread on Me?” – US Government to Start Confiscating Passports

This sounds like government bureaucracy overstepping its bounds to me. Notify the Libertarians.

RT:

Hundreds of thousands of US citizens may have to scrap their holiday plans, the Internal Revenue Service said, as it is enforcing a law allowing authorities to revoke and deny passports to those owing over $51,000 in unpaid taxes.

Some 362,000 people may fall under the scope of the 2015 law as early as the end of this year, the Wall Street Journal reported on Friday, citing an IRS spokesperson.

The Fixing America’s Surface Transportation (FAST) Act, which became a law in December 2015, allows the State Department and the IRS to refuse to issue passports to those with “seriously delinquent” debts that are defined as “an unpaid, legally enforceable federal tax liability” of more than $51,000, including interest and penalties. That rule envisions denying first-time passport applications, as well as the renewal of the travel document. In a worst-case scenario, a valid passport can be revoked by the State Department.

Look, there’s certain types of tax evasion that I would consider “bad” like when companies and politicians and rich lawyers or w/e store their funds offshore so that they can’t be taxed.

That sucks and the country is worse off for it.

But then, at the same time, I understand why the average person doesn’t want to pay his taxes. That money goes to useless Middle East wars, black gibs and funding for shit like NPR.

Other than roads or park conservation,  I can’t really think of anything of any use that taxes actually pay for. And roads and parks in America are getting steadily worse, imho. So even there, like, what are people paying for?

Public schools are also garbage. So why pay taxes for them? In theory, a free education is necessary to become a functioning member of society, but because they’re becoming so diverse, dangerous and indoctrinating, people are paying for private schools if they can or homeschooling if they can’t.

So fuck that.

And we don’t even get free healthcare in the US, so whatever your thoughts on that, if we pay taxes, I feel like we should get that.

The military is never used to secure our borders. Besides, it’s a private military at this point is it not? People sign-up to join the Army or w/e. They get paid to do so. They can become professional soldiers. They fight in bogus wars that no one can even explain the reason for. The US Army should just go full mercenary and start paying for its operations by taking over oil wells and selling the barrels on the market. At least we wouldn’t have to pay taxes to fund “defense”.

Cops. Cops suck. Let people open-carry and defend themselves and make militias and the problem will resolve itself. Also, let the niggers kill each other. Why constantly intervene in their tribal conflicts? Let nature take its course. Fuck paying taxes to pay for people who hound you like a criminal, treat you like a “civvy” and take half an hour of your time up to write you a ticket for speeding fifteen miles on the fuckin’ highway.

The Coast Guard is cool though. We can keep them. But they’re also taking a pay cut. Firefighters too.

But that’s it, man.

And don’t they have those endless fundraisers? Calendar sale? Bake sale? Fund yourself that way. Besides, I rent and I’ve got nothing I can’t carry out of my place in my two arms worth anything so, again, given the chance, I would honestly just roll the dice on the whole fire thing. Like, I’m going to be real with you guys. I don’t really care if my condominium full of yuppies and minorities gets burned down.

I’ll just hop on Airbnb for a couple of days and then find another place to rent. It will be virtually identical to my old place. As long as there’s an H and M nearby, I can rebound within a week or two, no sweat.

So frankly, I don’t like the gubmint trying to stop people from leaving the country because of unpaid taxes. I find that morally reprehensible and concerning. They’re just taking away more and more of our rights including the most important one: to skip out on our taxes.

That’s just too much.

Besides, a lot of Millennials are never going to pay back their college debt, so if you don’t let them make a run for Barcelona or somewhere, they’re going to be debt slaves for the rest of their lives.

My passport has been revoked? Shit, time to attack Trump supporters. t. millennial

Then they’re going to dye their hair and get piercings and join Antifa to ruin everyone’s life. Seriously, just let these people go.

Let all these people go.

And in general, if you want to destroy everything America stands for, why not just stop making people pay taxes? Asking them to fund their demise is a bit Kafkaesque, don’t you think?
