A racist has been fined after spouting hateful remarks at a black woman during a neighbour war.
Helen McDonald made a vile comment to her neighbour Yvette Ellis, Ayr Sheriff Court heard last week.
The 42-year-old has been handed a non harassment order after calling Ms Ellis a black b*****d outside her Ayr home.
She denied the incident, which took place in Setember 2015, but was found guilty when evidence was heard.
Giving testimony over a video link, disabled Ms Ellis, 50, said she saw someone she recognised by her property in Lochside.
She said hello and then received a barrage of insults from McDonald – causing her to walk away.
The mum said: “I heard her call me a black b*****d. She shouted it.
“I was a bit upset and shouted something back but I don’t remember what it was.”

McDonald had pled not guilty to acting in a racially aggravated manner which caused alarm or distress by shouting, swearing and making racial remarks.
She was fined £300 for her behaviour.
She must obey a non harassment order for a year.
This might not even have actually happened.
