Ukraine has rejected Russia’s proposal to evacuate civilians from major cities during its attack against the neighboring country. Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk accused Moscow of blocking evacuations in the past by “shelling [safe passage] routes.”
“Now the Russians are saying that they can open [humanitarian] corridors, but they want civilians to leave for the Russian territory, which is absurd, cynical and unacceptable,” Vereshchuk wrote on social media on Monday.
The deputy PM later told reporters that “our people will not go from Kiev to Belarus to be later airlifted to the Russian Federation.” Vereshchuk said Russia must “accept” alternative routes for refugees put forward by the Ukrainian side.
The Russian Defense Ministry urged Ukraine not to prevent civilians from leaving Kiev, Kharkov, Sumy and Mariupol on Monday for Russia via established routes. According to Moscow’s plan, people leaving Kiev were to arrive in Belarus, from where they would be flown to Russia, while some of those leaving other cities would cross into Russia directly. The defense ministry promised a temporary ceasefire starting from 10am local time on Monday.

Obviously, Azov is only one part of the Ukrainian military. But it is the Zelensky policy to use human shields.
Why is he not letting men leave? No men aged 18 to 60 are allowed to leave unless they’re Jewish. These men don’t have military training, and they don’t have guns for all of them.
The stuff heroes are made of, folks.
Also, the UK is not allowing in Ukrainian refugees.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has rejected calls for the UK to open the door to any Ukrainian refugees who are fleeing the conflict in their country and wish to seek safety in Britain, saying his government wants to be able to check who is wishing to cross the border.
Speaking on Monday, Johnson defended his government’s response, saying the UK is a “very, very generous country” but officials still want to maintain “control” and “be able to check” anyone who claims to be fleeing Ukraine before granting them a visa.
“I think it’s sensible given what’s going on in Ukraine to make sure that we have some basic ability to check who is coming in,” Johnson said, dismissing criticism over the UK’s slow admittance of Ukrainian refugees.
Part of that is maybe “sorry, we’re a democracy, and that means no whites allowed.”
But it’s mainly just about maximizing civilian casualties.
And by the way, given that Zelensky has now officially drafted every male aged 18 to 60, no male between those ages who is killed can be counted as a civilian casualty. They’re all part of a state militia.
If they literally said “women and children can’t leave either,” it would look too obvious. But they are doing everything they can to prevent anyone from leaving the country, and even from getting out of the cities to safer rural areas or smaller villages that are less likely to see fighting.
The whole point is to maximize casualties.
Obviously, no one actually believes Ukraine is somehow going to “win the war” against Russia. This is just like… it’s impossible to even respond to. I hear that and it’s like something a homeless schizophrenic is screaming as he’s wiping his own shit all over his face.
If a homeless person wiping his own shit all over his face is screaming at you, you don’t try to muster a counter-argument.
So the only reason for continuing the war at all is to maximize deaths, to maximize destruction in the country.
That should not have to be explained to anyone, any more than you should have to explain to someone that whatever the schizophrenic homeless man rubbing his own shit all over his face is screaming is not a coherent argument.
But here we are.
By the way – just to be clear – Putin is not even asking for a surrender. He’s just asking for demilitarization and a commitment to neutrality.

Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Reuters on Tuesday that Russia’s military offensive against Ukraine will stop “in a moment” if Kiev meets several key conditions. Russia wants Ukraine to enshrine neutrality in its constitution, acknowledge Crimea as Russian, and recognize Donetsk and Lugansk republics as independent states.
“They should make amendments to their constitution according to which Ukraine would reject any aims to enter any bloc,” Peskov said.
This demand is key, as a course toward NATO accession was written into Ukraine’s constitution in 2019. Ukraine’s membership in the Western alliance is considered an unacceptable security threat by Moscow, and the bloc’s expansion has been compared by President Vladimir Putin to the idea of Russia placing missiles on the US border in Canada or Mexico. During multiple rounds of negotiations leading up to Russia’s offensive, Western leaders repeatedly refused to rule out NATO membership for Ukraine.
Peskov told Reuters that Russia is not seeking to make any further territorial claims on Ukraine, but wants Kiev to recognize Crimea as Russian territory. Considered Russian land since Imperial times, Crimea was an autonomous republic within the Soviet Union until it was ceded to the Ukrainian SSR by Nikita Kruschev in 1954.
