Boeing Hires Team of Experts to Fix Engine Problems of 737 Max Planes

The 737 Max is one of the biggest disasters in engineering history. I guess it’s probably the single biggest.

This is not related to the recent problems Boeing has been facing with in-air disasters of various sorts. This plane was introduced in 2017. Development allegedly started in 2006, before the company’s diversity overhaul, but that would have been early development. Diversity is probably responsible for the planes’ problems. If not, there is some huge corruption scandal that just hasn’t come out yet.

Boeing used to be an amazing company, building marvels of engineering. Now they can barely keep planes in the air, after having failed to do a simple upgrade (which is all the Maxes are, an upgrade of the 737 – this is like if Apple releases the iPhone 16 and it starts melting people’s faces off).

New York Post:

Boeing will take up to a year to repair an engine issue on all its beleaguered 737 Max jets, which will delay the certification of its 737 Max 7s and Max 10s.

Boeing has acquired a team of experts to “quickly drive forward a safe and compliant solution” to a glitch that could cause the 737 Max anti-ice system to overheat and damage the engine, the corporation wrote in response to questions from Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-Illinois), according to CBS News.

Boeing officials previously said they would have the issue fixed within nine to 12 months, the outlet noted.

“Small changes made to the engine inlet can change the behavior of the air as it enters the engine, impacting engine performance,” the embattled company explained.

The solution selection process for the potential overheating issue will require a full understanding of safety and compliance impacts on all systems,” Boeing added.

Although the specific issue has never occurred in-flight, the worst-case scenario could cause components to break off the airplane, CBS reported.

On Tuesday, United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby announced that the airline had asked Boeing to stop building the 737 Max 10 planes it had ordered and to focus on building 727 Max 9s instead.

Yeah, they’re just going to have to stop making them.

But they already made so many… I guess they can somehow downgrade them? Like when you buy a gaming PC and have to uninstall Windows 11? They can just replace the stuff that doesn’t work with stuff from the old style 737s?

I actually have no idea if they can do that. It is probably much more complicated than that.

It’s especially complicated since it’s all a bunch of blacks and women trying to fix these jets.
