My article entitled “Was the Turkish Coup an Erdogan Hoax?” was written before the coup was even over. I drew the conclusion that the most likely thing which had taken place is that Erdogan staged the coup himself.

The article has now been viewed over a million times from Turkish IPs, mainly via Facebook links.

The day after the coup was the biggest day in the site’s history, with over half a million unique visitors.

The dirty dog Erdogan is now investigating people who promote the Anglin Theory as criminals.

The Independent:

Turkish authorities are investigating people who have claimed the failed coup to oust President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was a hoax.

Since the failed coup, many people have alleged on social media that the armed uprising in which more than 250 people were killed was orchestrated by the government.

Turkish Justice Minister Bekir Bozdag said anyone who suggests the attempted coup was staged was probably involved in it themselves and would face investigation.

The threat came amid a wave of detentions, firings and suspensions of public sector workers.

Speaking to Turkey’s Kanal 7 TV station, Mr Bozdag said: “Just look at the people who are saying on social media that this was theatre. Public prosecutors are already investigating them. Most of them are losers who think it is an honour to die for Fethullah Gülen’s command.

The Turkish government blames the coup on the Gülen movement which it says has infiltrated Turkey’s military and civilian infrastructure.

Mr Gülen and his supporters have denied involvement in the coup.

And as of yet, despite the tens of thousands of arrests and detentions, the Turkish government has produced exactly zero evidence demonstrating Gulen planned this coup from his Pennsylvania home.

Which means that the most logical conclusion remains that Erdogan staged it himself.

Basic application of Occam’s Razor dictates this fact.

Among competing hypotheses, the one with the fewest assumptions should be selected.

Presumably, Erdogan will eventually come out with confessions extracted under torture (torture which Amnesty International claims involves shoving objects up people’s buttholes). I am a bit surprised that hasn’t happened yet.

But if you think that he could have rounded up tens of thousands of people and two weeks later have not found any documentary evidence supporting his theory, I’ve got a mail order bride I wanna sell you.

And he doesn’t have evidence, because he is continually demanding that the US extradite Gulen, while they say “sure, no problem, just give us the evidence and we’ll send him right over.” They then respond with outrage at being asked for evidence.

As far as I’m concerned, this is a closed case, short of some new information presenting itself. And again – two weeks later, I would be extremely surprised if any shocking new evidence pops up.
