The world would be the best place on earth to live if Donald Trump had chosen me as his advisor instead of Jared Kushner. Kushner clearly is the one who screwed us yet again and convinced Trump to stupidly give ground to the hoax.
If Trump would have kept the hardline “it’s the flu” position, he could now be saying “I told you so.”
Instead, he doesn’t even appear to have followed the news about what the lockdown was supposed to do.

President Donald Trump on Tuesday acknowledged that reopening parts of the nation’s economy now, against the advice of many health experts, would inevitably cost some Americans their lives. But he argued that the benefits outweighed the costs.
“It’s possible there will be some [deaths] because you won’t be locked into an apartment or house or whatever it is,” Trump told ABC’s David Muir in a rare network news interview. “But at the same time, we’re going to practice social distancing, we’re going to be washing hands, we’re going to be doing a lot of the things that we’ve learned to do over the last period of time.”

As of Tuesday, U.S. deaths had climbed above 70,000, with total cases at 1.2 million.
“There’ll be more death, that the virus will pass, with or without a vaccine. And I think we’re doing very well on the vaccines but, with or without a vaccine, it’s going to pass, and we’re going to be back to normal,” Trump said.
There is no evidence so far that, in the absence of a vaccine, the virus “will pass” in a way that allows the country to return to a pre-coronavirus “normal.” In fact, it’s the opposite. Trump’s own top scientists say they believe the virus will come back in the fall and may even prove to come back every season like the flu.
This is the media’s narrative now: we just have to stay locked up indefinitely.
It continues to be implied that normal people are likely to die of this virus. In actuality, according to the CDC’s own fake math, if a healthy person comes down with a case of coronavirus so bad that he ends up seeking treatment, he’s about as likely to die in that situation as he is likely to die from drowning or from burning up in a fire.
We have not locked people in their houses because water exists, despite the fact that a person has a 1/1121 chance of dying from drowning.
Even while vaguely implying that young people will die from this virus, still, they will other times admit that well over 90% of fatalities are with comorbidity (meaning it is likely the virus isn’t even what killed them), and the rest are people who are very, very old.
None of this makes any sense. At all. It is utter lunacy. Every day it becomes more insane and every day the media becomes more outrageous.
But the president argued that not reopening businesses also costs people their lives, in the form of drug overdoses and suicides.
“People are dying the other way, too.” said Trump. “When you look at what’s happened with drugs, it goes up. When you look at suicides, I mean, take a look at what’s going on. People are losing their jobs. We have to bring it back and that’s what we’re doing.”
There is currently no documented epidemic of suicide, although experts say it’s likely that a mental health crisis is looming.
Yes, and I would think that a healthy young man killing himself or dying of a drug overdose because his life was destroyed by an economic collapse is a lot worse than a person in a nursing home dying because they were ready to go or a morbidly obese person dying because they didn’t treat their life as though it had value.
This is who you’re locked down to save. No one has explained why we couldn’t use the $10 trillion we’ve already spent to lock these people down instead of locking everyone down. Presumably they haven’t explained that because there is no explanation.
Of course, I must again point out that at this point, staying closed for another year would mean about the same thing in terms of the economic damage. We’ve hit the bottom, as people are going to see soon. There is no way it can get measurably worse than it already is.
Trump made the remarks Tuesday during a visit to a Honeywell factory in Arizona, which is producing N95 respirator masks. It was the president’s first trip outside of the Washington area since the pandemic took hold nearly two months ago.
“The people of our country are warriors,” Trump said during a roundtable earlier in the day. “I’m not saying anything is perfect. Yes, will some people be affected? Yes. Will some people be affected badly? Yes. But we have to get our country opened and we have to get it open soon.”
Trump also said his own expectations for the mortality rate were rising. “I always felt 60, 65, 70, as horrible as that is. I mean, you’re talking about filling up Yankee Stadium with death! So I thought it was horrible. But it’s probably going to be somewhat higher than that,” he said to Muir.
Trump’s acknowledgement that reopening the country would likely cost lives represents a shifting White House calculus about risk and reward, given the economic hardship that the closure of most businesses in most states has caused over the past month.
Since mid-March, more than 30 million Americans have filed claims for unemployment. Meanwhile, the $1,200 temporary relief checks that Congress approved for more than 100 million Americans were not designed to provide long-term solutions, just a short-term bridge until the country reopened.
Now, after a month during which the country has been in virtual lockdown, new coronavirus cases appear to have leveled off in some areas, but they haven’t plummeted the same way they have in countries like New Zealand.
Yes, talk about New Zealand. Talk about how they are going to have their borders closed literally forever. If New Zealand gets this virus, having prevented people from getting immunities, it will cause the same amount of damage that it would have caused in the first place.
The virus exists. It is going to kill as many people as it is going to kill. There is no way around that.
Like many people in this country, Trump apparently never understood the concept of “flatten the curve.” This was not about preventing infections, because at the time this lockdown was implemented, even Neil “Better Lock Down Your Fat Wife” Ferguson admitted that it was impossible to prevent infections. The initial stated purpose of the lockdown, and the meaning of “flatten the curve,” was to keep hospitals from being overwhelmed so everyone could get treatment.
This concept of an indefinite lockdown was invented as soon as it was obvious that the hospitals were not being overwhelmed – at which point it would have made sense, according to the initial logic, to end the lockdown then and there, ten days in, when we could have saved the economy.
The reason they came up with this “just stay in place” madness is that they wanted the economy to be destroyed. There is no other conceivable reason they would do this, because it never made any sense to just lock people down “until whenever.” This is abject lunacy, as anyone who is not in a state of hysteria can see.
But the media has purposefully prevented people from understanding what is going on, or how viruses work, and just claimed that anyone who wants to open the country – Trump, especially – doesn’t care about human life and just wants to see corpses piled up on the street so that money will keep rolling in.
I just can’t hardly even take it anymore.
