Donald Trump Jr. Suspended by Twitter for “Coronavirus Disinfo”

Twitter is currently engaged in a process of ritual humiliation of Donald Trump, making it clear to the president that he is not in charge. Silicon Valley is in charge of running this country. They make the decisions about what the president and his family are allowed to think and say.

They’re regulating the speech of the president and his people because they are moral. The president, you see, is highly immoral.

CNBC:

Donald Trump Jr. has limited access to his Twitter account after sharing a video on the social media platform that violated its Covid-19 misinformation rules, the company confirmed Tuesday.

A Twitter spokesperson called out the president’s son for violating its policy on “spreading misleading and potentially harmful information related to Covid-19.”

The post in question, a viral video about hydroxychloroquine being used to treat Covid-19, has since been deleted. A Twitter spokesman declined to comment further.

Trump Jr. is still able to browse the app, but is unable to tweet, retweet, follow or like posts for a 12-hour period.

In a statement to CNBC, Andy Surabian, a spokesman for Trump Jr., echoed unproven complaints from conservatives that social media companies like Twitter try to silence them on their respective platforms.

“Twitter suspending Don Jr. for sharing a viral video of medical professionals discussing their views on Hydroxychloroquine is further proof that Big Tech is intent on killing free expression online and is another instance of them committing election interference to stifle Republican voices,” Surabian said in the statement.

Twitter said it did not suspend Trump Jr.‘s account, just limited his access. With the exception of the tweet that Twitter said violates its policies, the rest of Trump Jr.’s tweets are still visible on his page.

As soon as the internet monopoly companies came together to censor Andrew Anglin, the government should have sprung into action and begun protecting the freedoms of the people. It was always obvious that it would get to the point where the president himself, and his surrogates, were being censored. That is the nature of the slippery slope.

Now, of course, it is too late to do anything about this censorship in the fewer than 100 days before the election, so the president and his people are going to have to figure out how to deliver a message while Twitter is deciding what message they’re allowed to deliver.

This really is an insane situation, where we’ve allowed these social media companies to have a monopoly on public discussion, and also allowed them to decide what is allowed to be said. They are effectively the masters of reality.

If Trump loses, no one will remember that he lost because of election meddling by these social media companies. The social media companies will just make it so you’re not allowed to say what it was that they did to interfere with the election.
