I was suspended from Twitter for 12 hours on Sunday for making a joke about a woman.
On Monday, the suspension was up and I had full access to my account.
Then, all of a sudden, the whole thing was shut down, and I was given no explanation.
I don’t really want to talk too much about this right now, because several people have done successful appeals and this is definitely not usual.
I will say that if this is anything other than an accident, it bodes very poorly for Elon Musk’s Twitter. I’ve been extremely, extremely careful. I do not even post the word “Jew.”
Obviously, I am very political, but I absolutely follow the rules. I don’t think the crude joke in question broke the rules, but if it did, okay, give me a suspension for a few days and let’s move on with our lives.
If I am actually being permanently banned, that is political, and it is very badly political, because like it or not, I’m the bellwether for political censorship.
I’ve appealed and I’m going to keep appealing, but if this is permanent, it has a deep meaning that goes way beyond me which is going to need to be discussed, because there’s no way I can be banned permanently without Elon himself approving it. Everyone in Silicon Valley knows who I am, if for no other reason than the censorship that I was hit with in 2017 (which no one thought was even possible previously).
This is not a threat to go scorched earth, which wouldn’t really mean that much anyway. But a whole lot of things are going to have to be reconsidered with regards to what is going on with the Elon Musk phenomenon.
But let’s give it a week.
We’ll see what happens.
Worst case, I’ll finally be getting that forum fixed.
