Previously: Is This January 6 Show Trial Even Real Life?
The January 6 show trial was one of the biggest media events in recent memory. On Thursday night, Fox News’ Tucker Carlson showed a screen with all of the other news channels simply streaming the feed from the bizarre spectacle.
There was just one problem: no one cares.
So now, the media is demanding that the government criminally prosecute Donald Trump for holding a rally that was really a secret plan to overthrow the government.
The evidence was the star witness.
In painstaking detail, and with brutal new footage of the attack at the U.S. Capitol, the House Jan. 6 committee began to lay out its case Thursday that the insurrection was planned — and that it was only the most conspicuous component of a sprawling and illegal offensive by then-President Donald Trump to remain in power.
“President Trump summoned the mob, assembled the mob and lit the flame of the attack,” Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney, the Republican vice chair of the panel, said during its first public hearing.
The audience for the committee’s six planned hearings over the coming weeks is not fellow lawmakers, and — despite the prime-time scheduling Thursday — it isn’t really the general public. There will be no impeachment of the former president, and few White House officials or Democratic strategists are sanguine about the possibility of significant movement in public opinion.
“It’s not an issue that is top of mind for voters,” said Chris Kofinis, a Democratic strategist who conducts focus groups. “Inflation is.”
Instead, the committee’s work is most clearly aimed at the top brass at the Department of Justice who will decide whether to bring charges against Trump and members of his inner circle.
That helps explain why there was strikingly little grandstanding by members of the committee — only Cheney and Chairman Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., spoke at Thursday’s hearing.
The panel allowed the evidence, in the form of testimony and footage, to speak for itself.
There is much more to come in the way of demonstrating Trump’s role in coordinating a multipronged attack on the election and the peaceful transfer of power, according to Rep. Stephanie Murphy, D-Fla., who is a member of the select committee.
“What you saw tonight was the violent physical piece that was one element of an overall strategy that Donald Trump was using to retain power,” she said in a telephone interview minutes after the hearing ended. “There were attempts made at the local, state and federal level, in addition to the physical violence that culminated on Jan. 6.”
That story is, at once, simple and ornate. In the most straightforward telling, the panel contends that Trump used the power of the presidency, the legal system and ultimately violence to try to erase the 2020 election and seize a second term.
This is apparently what the Democrats are running on in 2022. I don’t know how they managed to not do polling on this, and thought that people would care about it. I guess they probably did do polling, but there is just nothing else they can do. They can’t address inflation, crime, war, drugs, or any of the other things actually affecting people’s lives. So they feed you this gibberish.
For anyone who isn’t retarded, it’s obvious that Trump could have actually done a coup if he’d had the balls. He could have declared martial law, said that as commander-in-chief he was ordering the military to shut down the civilian government, and spoken directly to the troops and told them that if their commanding officers refused his orders, they were to be relieved of duty with deadly force if necessary.
He then could have seized control of the media, and told his supporters to march into Washington with guns and take control of the Capitol building with or without the cooperation of the police.
Maybe it would have worked, maybe not – who knows – but that’s how you would have done a coup, and if he was intent on keeping power, he would have at least tried (there wasn’t anything to lose other than his life, and only a coward fears losing his life in defense of his nation after having accepted the role of leader).
Telling people to go to a rally that turns into a slight riot is not a coup. No one believes that. This entire hoax is about completely destroying what’s left of the American system of government, and even Democrats themselves all have bigger problems to worry about than this insane transformation of America into a totalitarian state – even though they probably all support it in principle, it just isn’t at the top of their list, or even in the top five.
Democrats have ultimate power, and they can’t manage to rally their own people to support them.
In other news, inflation just hit 8.4%.

Democrats are living in a satanic fantasy world of lolipop gumdrop trees.
