These pictures from Monday’s earthquake in Turkey and Syria are insane.
Hundreds of people were killed. They’re saying “worst in decades,” but I don’t remember ever seeing this many buildings destroyed like this. It’s probably the single worst ever in terms of happening somewhere with a bunch of shoddily built apartment buildings.

Right now they’re saying “hundreds dead and thousands injured,” but those numbers are certain to go up, probably by a lot.

The implications of this are likely pretty significant. Critical infrastructure in both countries was destroyed, and in Turkey, you’ve got all of these gas pipelines. Some of the pipelines are already reported to be damaged.
I’m just so happy that our greatest ally Israel was left unscathed.
Frankly, I’ve never been all that impressed by theories about how the government has secret Tesla technology that can cause earthquakes. However, if I found out those theories were true, I would not be all that surprised.
