Trump Pens Angry Letter to Twitter After They Said He Manipulated a Clip of Joe Biden

Trust the plan.

Trump is now really fighting for our freedom of speech.

Or his freedom of speech.

Whatever.

But the concept of claiming that these videos of Biden saying weird things are “doctored” is actually hilarious on a number of levels.

This is the video we’re talking about.

I don’t actually see where it is labeled “manipulated media,” but apparently they did that.

Fox News:

The Trump campaign has sent a scathing letter to Twitter’s leadership after the platform took the unprecedented step of labeling one of its videos “manipulated media,” saying that under the social media giant’s new standard, Joe Biden’s team has uploaded its own “doctored and deceptively edited” video as recently as last week.

“The Biden campaign is scared as hell that voters will see the flood of unedited and embarrassing verbal stumbles that will continue go viral if ‘Status Quo Joe’ is the nominee,” Trump campaign rapid response director Andrew Clark told Fox News. “Twitter shouldn’t be an enforcement arm of Joe Biden’s campaign strategy, but if they choose to police every video clip they must hold his own campaign to the same standard.

No, they actually must not, according to you people.

The Trump Administration has repeatedly reenforced the claim that because Twitter is a “private monopoly,” they can do whatever they want to anyone, and that obviously includes manipulating political materials in order to affect elections.

I don’t know why Trump decided not to fight this, but he didn’t fight it and there is currently no law that keeps Twitter from doing whatever they can to change the outcome of elections by controlling what information the American people have access to.

The confrontation began this the weekend when Trump communications director Dan Scavino tweeted an edited version of a Biden speech in which the former vice president appears to deliver a muddled and inadvertent endorsement of Trump. Scavino’s clip, which the president later reposted, did not alter any of Biden’s words, but it cut off before the conclusion of Biden’s sentence at a rally in St. Louis. Conservatives called the video an obvious attempt to highlight Biden’s verbal gaffes, and argued that no one would reasonably mistake it for a genuine Biden endorsement.

Of course no one would do whatever.

But it doesn’t matter.

Private companies can do whatever they want. It’s in the Constitution or whatever.

Charlie Kirk straight up told me that our entire country is based on allowing corporations to do whatever they want to anyone.

If they say “cutting a clip off too soon is doctoring and we don’t allow doctoring because that is election hacking,” then that’s what it is. In actual fact, they don’t even have to give a reason at all. According to the policy of the Trump Administration, which has repeatedly come out in support of totally unregulated monopolies in the tech sector, Twitter can openly say “we are censoring Republicans and promoting Democrats because we want to change the outcome of elections.”

I don’t understand what the point of Trump writing a letter is. These are his policies.

“Understandably, the Biden campaign has a strategic interest in intimidating social media companies into suppressing true and embarrassing video evidence of Joe Biden’s continued inability to communicate coherently—a sad truth that has been publicly noted by Democrats and media figures alike,” Trump campaign chief operating officer Michael Glassner wrote in the missive to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, general counsel Vijaya Gadde, and public policy director Carlos Monje.

Still, it appears that many people employed by Big Tech corporations in Silicon Valley are assisting the Biden campaign by instituting a special ‘Biden protection rule’ that effectively censors and silences legitimate political speech Biden’s campaign and its supporters do not like,” he added in the letter, obtained by Fox News.

Glassner said he was “formally requesting that Twitter apply its new ‘manipulated media’ label to a doctored and deceptively edited video tweeted by the Biden campaign less than a week ago.”

That was a reference to a March 3 video uploaded by the Biden campaign that contains a slew of clips that are taken out of context, and “manipulates audio and video of President Trump in order to mislead Americans and give a false impression,” Glassner wrote.

Yeah, I’m sure that “formal request” will really make them reconsider the morality of using their platform to promote their political agenda.

What even am I reading here?

Here’s the video Trump is demanding also be labeled “manipulated media.”

It actually is “manipulated” in the sense they are talking about, which is taking video out of context for humorous purposes.

All of this terminology is just dumb, and saying you can’t make jokes if you’re a Republican is stupid and weird. Twitter should just come out and say “we support the Democrats and we will do whatever we can to help them get elected.”

Again, there is no reason they can’t say that, and saying it would be an alpha move.

It really is just all so tiresome.

I can’t really even think about this censorship stuff anymore. It’s just too dumb. And Donald Trump whining about it – when he is the one person who could actually do something about it, and refuses – just makes me sick.

It’s like when Homer Simpson became a tranny.

Internet censorship is the single most important issue of all issues. I would 100% support Trump even with his mass immigration, pro-Israel, international homosexual agenda if he would simply support freedom of speech.

If we do not have freedom of speech, we do not have anything else, because we can’t even talk about anything else.

This plan to claim that every clip of Joe Biden saying weird senile nonsense is “manipulated” is going to be a key element of election censorship. Watch for it.
