What he wrote was certainly rude, but to make it a criminal offense … ?

Soral is a weird guy. He’s gone through a bunch of different life phases which corresponded to different political outlooks (as we all might do, I suppose, but not in such a public manner, and not at such a late age as he).
He was a communist-white nationalist-neo-Nazi, but then he started taking sexual interest in brown women, and became pro-jihadist.
The Swiss press is calling him a “far-right ideologue” presently, but I think he still calls himself a Marxist.
Whatever his position on politics may be at the time, one thing remains the same: he gets prosecuted for speech crimes. Most recently, he was convicted of denying the Hologram in 2019. But reading the JTA archive on his name shows a lot more harassment, and it only goes back to 2013.
This has become a kind of Tom & Jerry situation.
A court in Switzerland sentenced a writer and commentator to 60 days in jail for calling a journalist a “fat lesbian,” and the decision is being lauded by LGBTQ+ groups.
On Monday, French-Swiss polemicist Alain Bonnet, who goes by Alain Soral, was sentenced by the Lausanne court for the crimes of defamation, discrimination and incitement to hatred after he criticized Catherine Macherel, a journalist for Swiss newspapers Tribune de Geneve and 24 Heures, in a Facebook video two years ago.
I know you’re not allowed to say “fat lesbian” now, but it seems like two years ago, you were allowed to say it?
Certainly, 3 years ago, this would have been allowed.
The woman definitely is a fat lesbian, and neither of those words is in itself banned.
Frankly, the speech rules are changing so rapidly, that you really deserve an instant trial as soon as you say the potentially banned words.
In addition to the prison time, Soral was subsequently ordered to pay legal fees and fines totaling thousands of Swiss francs.
Soral’s sentencing came after he called Macherel a “fat lesbian,” criticized her work as a “queer activist” and said she was “unhinged” in a social media video, according to Swiss public broadcaster RTS.
…
This conviction was not the first time Soral has gotten into trouble over his words as he was previously and repeatedly convicted in France for denying the Holocaust, which is a crime in France. He was sentenced to jail time in 2019 over the denials.
The reason he was sentenced is because of what he said about the Jews. Not because the government cares that much if you call someone a “fat lesbian.”
Jews move the issues surrounding them into the larger whole of society by promoting disputes over homosexuality, feminism, and mass immigration. Obviously, they are behind all of those problems, but if you are arguing over those problems, then you’re not talking about Jews.
