Zelensky Says Trump Wanting to Stop the War is “Dangerous”

So, Zelensky is out stumping against Trump.

That was about the most predictable thing.

The Guardian:

The Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelenskiy, fears that if Donald Trump returns to the White House next year he could make unilateral concessions to Russia that override Ukraineā€™s interests and branded the former US presidentā€™s claims he could stop the war in 24 hours as ā€œvery dangerousā€.

In an interview with the UKā€™s Channel 4 News, Zelenskiy said he was ā€œstressedā€ that the former president ā€œis going to make decisions on his own, without ā€¦ Iā€™m not even talking about Russia, but without both sides, without us.ā€

ā€œIf he says this publicly, thatā€™s a little scary. Iā€™ve seen a lot, a lot of victims, but thatā€™s really making me a bit stressed,ā€ he said.

ā€œEven if his idea [for ending the war] ā€“ that no one has heard yet ā€“ doesnā€™t work for us, for our people, he will do anything to implement his idea anyway. And this worries me a little,ā€ he added.

He’s afraid that Trump would do something that would result in people not dying.

Zelenskiy said heā€™d invite Trump to Ukraine ā€“ an offer he has previously declined to extend ā€“ but only if the former president comes through on his promise to stop the war.

ā€œDonald Trump, I invite you to Ukraine, to Kyiv. If you can stop the war during 24 hours, I think it will be enough to come,ā€ Zelenskiy said.

What?

The Ukrainian leaderā€™s comments come after the Republican presidential frontrunner has claimed he is well positioned to negotiate an end to the war that has raged without any attempt at a negotiated settlement between the two countries for almost two years.

In September, Trump said that if re-elected president, he would resolve the war within 24 hours but declined to outline his peace plan. ā€œIf I tell you exactly, I lose all my bargaining chips. I mean, you canā€™t really say exactly what youā€™re going to do. But I would say certain things to Putin. I would say certain things to Zelenskiy,ā€ he said.

All you would have to do is cut the Ukraine’s money.

They would go themselves to the negotiating table within 24 hours of hearing that news.

What else are they going to do?

If they didn’t negotiate when the money was cut, their state would collapse within 24 hours.

It’s not a complicated proposal.
